Fun Facts
Growing up I played FOR basketball, golf and even have a couple of soccer and softball years under my belt. About Me
I am a recent graduate from California State University, DomÃnguez Hills with a double major in Psychology and Spanish. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with honors in both majors. I will be entering into the single-subject credential program in Spanish in the Fall of 2013, and am looking to earn my PhD in bilingual studies. Teaching at the high school level or community college level is my ultimate goal.
Starting in March of 2012, I will be involved in a volunteer teaching program at CSUDH, where we will be teaching children, ages 5-12, how to read and write in Spanish.
In order to reach out to children, there must be an adjustment to each child's learning style; I am one of those students, who has a very different learning style. Growing up, I never had the best grades or the best learning habits; I believe much of that is attributed to my learning style: I wasn't challenged enough or, maybe I wasn't "stimulated" in the right way and I understand what it feels like to be "behind." My goal is to adjust my tutoring to the child's specific style. Everybody can learn; the challenge is: finding the best way to reach that particular student. By using a variety of avenues to stimulate learning, I believe I will be a successful tutor and mentor.
