Fun Facts

I am super passionate about reading and personal development! I have always loved writing and learning to communicate more effectively. I am the youngest of seven children and love to spend time with my nieces and nephews. When I'm not working or reading, I enjoy staying active doing yoga, rock climbing, and bachata dancing. My number one destination on my bucket list is Iceland.

About Me

I graduated from Texas State University in December 2021 and am currently going to cosmetology school. After college, I owned my own business as an Aussiedoodle breeder and worked part-time as a puppy trainer. I've also worked as a baker and a full-time nanny, so I am a Jack of many trades! My ultimate goal is to own a small business as a lash tech and hair colorist within the beauty industry.

Experience

Many of my nanny positions over the last year have included helping young children with their homework. I have helped with reading, spelling, phonics, math, and science. I also have 5 nieces and 5 nephews that I have had extensive experience helping with their reading, writing, and math homework. I am eager to begin working with students and share my passion for learning! I believe learning is a lifelong process and that even the most dull subjects can be enjoyable with the right approach.

Approach

I believe learning is most effectively absorbed when connected with material that is already familiar to students, whether that is in the form of a game or story. Positivity and encouragement for tasks students are doing well are crucial components of my tutoring. Also, having a teacher who enjoys the subject they are teaching greatly impacts the student's motivation to learn the material, so I make it my mission to present the material engagingly.
