Fun Facts
I love being with my family and very much enjoy camping almost every weekend in the summer. I enjoy knitting and watching movies as well as reading. I enjoy baking Christmas goodies with my daughter and granddaughters at Christmas time and throughout the year. We love watching our Green Bay Packers football team during the fall/ winter time on Sundays and we have family get-togethers at my house weekly.
About Me
I graduated with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education and a music minor. I also worked hard and acquired a CDA (child development associate) credential enabling me to teach pre-k children.
for the last 10 years before I retired, I worked as a case manager working with families experiencing homelessness. A few years ago, just before COVID, I went back to work at school and I worked in the 4YK room as a paraprofessional. When COVID came along, I worked as a contact tracer.
Experience
I’ve worked as an elementary remedial reading teacher in grades K-5, a Head Start teacher, an Early Head Start teacher, and a preschool teacher. I also subbed in elementary school. I have worked as a tutor with students one-on-one.
Approach
I’ve found that it’s important to see a child as having particular gifts and to look for them. It’s important to offer constructive criticism and encouragement to bring out the best in children. I find it exciting to see children learn because I know it’s the key for them to grow into productive adults. I Love that light bulb moment when you see the child “gets it”.
