Fun Facts
I was part of a dual language program growing up and have been trying to learn at least one language or another at every moment since then. I went on a Spanish immersion trip to Chile last May!
About Me
I am a linguistics MA student at the University of North Texas who has just (with a 3.916 GPA). My BA was also in Linguistics at UNT (with a 4.0 GPA) and I had minors in English and Social Science. I have two years of experience assisting with ESL and Spanish classes in Dallas and have earned a Graduate Academic Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. My ultimate goal is to work in bilingual education administration.
Experience
I have led informal study groups throughout my high school, undergraduate, and graduate school careers, as well as serving as a Teaching Assistant helping to teach ESL and Spanish classes at the LanGo Institute and to teach linguistics classes at the University of North Texas. I have also done substitute teaching for the Denton Independent School District in the past. I am happy to help students of all ages achieve success!
Approach
I have always loved learning and as a teacher, I actively work to make learning enjoyable and exciting for the students I work with. I also strive to meet my students wherever they are and adapt my lessons to their specific needs and goals.
