Fun Facts
One of my favorite things to do is ride my bicycle and appreciate the unique landscapes that surround me. I am passionate about worm farming, the art of using composting worms to transform organic food waste into nutrient-rich worm castings for any kind of plant. Most of my free time is spent with my worms!
About Me
I graduated from the USFSP Honors Program and while I attended the school I participated in various clubs and organizations where I held a position on the board or committee. I also wrote a thesis titled "The Politics of Food Consumption, recycling, and solar energy" published in the university library, and the Florida Geographer Journal published a shorter version titled "Politics, the Environment, and USFSP Students." After I graduated I focused on my worm farming business to help mitigate food waste.
Experience
The first time I tutored I was 15 years old as a volunteer teaching English to children victims of terrorism in Colombia. As a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success, I had the opportunity to tutor Spanish to high schoolers, and most recently I have had the opportunity to tutor for Grade Potential Tutoring. I am also a substitute teacher for the Pinellas Academy of Math and Science.
Approach
I am grateful to have had my mother be patient with me and help me fall in love with scholarship and education. Over the years I have realized that indeed, knowledge is power. I like the opportunity to support younger students in reaching their highest potential and excelling in their educational needs.
