Fun Facts
I love sailing and aerospace. I plan to commission in the Air Force or Navy after college. I have been actively volunteering for 4 years in several organizations.
About Me
I am a graduating senior, expected to enroll in Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. I plan to major in Aerospace Engineering, I have a strong background in math: I take college-level courses in Calculus and Physics.
Experience
As a Cadet Aerospace Education officer in the Civil Air Patrol, I teach 20 students the basics of aviation history, rocketry, and flight. As a sailing instructor at my high school, I teach students nautical terminology and give them hands-on training. As a leader in Navy Junior ROTC, I regularly speak in front of hundreds of my peers and mentor lower-level leaders.
Approach
As a student, I needed teachers who paid attention to my thought process and saw when I needed help and when I needed to figure a problem out on my own. In general, I look to my high school physics teacher as an outstanding role model and educator. He took the time to patiently give me just what I needed to learn and observed how I tackled the problem. As an instructor and education officer, I mimic his style, taking liberties to engage students in their learning methods.
