About Me
I am an educational diagnostician which is a person who gives assessments and analyzes data to determine a student's eligibility for education/texas/fort-worth">special education services. This background along with many years of classroom teaching experience allows me to determine a student's strengths and weaknesses, using strengths to improve their learning and working with them on strategies and ways to overcome their weaknesses and be successful in their educational career.
Experience
I have 15 years of experience in education. I started as a substitute teacher and then worked as a paraprofessional in education/texas/fort-worth">special education for a year until I had my classroom. I have taught kindergarten, first, and second grade as well as being a K-2 reading and math interventionist. Currently, I am an educational diagnostician working with education/texas/fort-worth">special education students and assessing struggling students to determine eligibility for education/texas/fort-worth">special education services.
Approach
When teaching reading and writing I use the science of reading approach to help students learn all of the areas needed to become a strong reader and writer. I believe strongly that students need a strong foundation in early learning years to enable them to be successful throughout their educational careers.
