Fun Facts

I have two grown children, and a dog, and am an avid songwriter. Just finished another today!

About Me

I am passionate about teaching math Grades 2-5 with Mr. Dan!" I enjoy teaching young people especially when they have those "aha" moments when they master a new challenge.

My goal is to increase a motivated child's academic level by one whole letter grade within 8-12 weeks of tutoring.

I have had experience working with young people for over 4 years. As a junior and senior in high school, I volunteered as a math tutor teaching Algebra I, II, and Geometry. I also taught guitar to grades 2-5 for 3 years.

I scored a 720 (perfect score is 800) on my math S.A.T. and received Advanced Placement in Calculus. I graduated with a 3.93 average summa cum laude with a B.A. from the Ivy League School, The University of Pennsylvania.

Dan's Character:
Passionate about math
Patient, understanding, down-to-earth and knowledgeable.
Supportive and encouraging with strong communication skills.

Approach

I believe that taking a genuine interest in your student's well-being and consistently being patient, understanding, encouraging, and persistent is the best approach to tutoring. Each student learns in their own time and in their own way. A tutor should always be ready to show an alternate approach and be patient!
