Fun Facts
Blessed, first-time mom to an awesome one-year-old. I love my family, nature, and working on home improvement.
About Me
I was working in biotech as an engineer and scientist before taking a delightful detour to be with my family. My educational background is a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Entrepreneurship & Innovation. What interested me in my field of study was wanting to help others and my love for math and science. In my downtime, I enjoy spending time reading, cooking, with family, hiking, learning new board games, as well as making arts and crafts.
Experience
As an undergrad student, I had the opportunity to tutor community college students on various subjects, mainly math and science. I found immense joy in being able to help students succeed in their classes because I think learning can be a lot of fun when you have the confidence and support to do it. I also enjoy the challenge of finding new ways to communicate complex ideas because communication is very important and one area in life that is ubiquitous and needs constant improvement.
Approach
Since the second grade, I remember being in the G.A.T.E program because school was rather easy for me then. By 5th grade, a few students and I had entered into math competitions because of our teacher who loved math. Being challenged in a fun way made me discover I wanted a to pursue a path in STEM, which ultimately led to me going to college for a degree in Chemical Engineering. However, I later learned that I needed better study habits to succeed. I now hope to help others as well.
