Fun Facts
I absolutely love any activity outdoors - when I have free time I am usually trail running in the foothills or down by the river. I am currently training to run my first marathon in the fall.
About Me
I was a non-traditional student and after working various healthcare jobs I decided medical school was the best fit for me. I was accepted into my dream medical school and began this fall. I know how intimidating this process is and I want to help others achieve their goals and make it into the school of their choice. I am also happy to work with students on their applications, personal statements, secondary applications, and how to go through the interview as it is a very difficult process.
Experience
During undergrad, I was a teaching assistant in Genetics and Microbiology as well as working in the Psych Lab on campus. Here I was able to work with students who like myself, did not have a strong background in the sciences and find ways to learn the information and apply it effectively. I also tutored for the MCAT over the past two summers while working full-time. I have worked in small group, classroom, and individual settings and I find individual to be the most effective. I have
Approach
I like to create a comfortable and engaging environment in which to learn. I always found many of the pre-med courses intimidating because I graduated from public school with a very weak background in the sciences which forced me to teach myself to make up for those gaps in content. I know how intimidating the journey to medical school is and I want to create a space that is both motivating and supportive.
