I have five wonderful children of my own, ages from 13 to 3.

About Me

For the past 16 years, I have been a public school teacher. I have experience working with students from preschool to 3rd grade.

Experience

I have been a classroom teacher in preschool, kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. I currently am a education/illinois/chicago">special education teacher in an inclusion setting for grades kindergarten through third grade.

Approach

I incorporate several key elements that contribute to student learning. Utilizing concrete examples to illustrate concepts can enhance understanding and maintain student engagement. Providing explicit instruction in the form of "I do, we do, you do" helps by gradually transferring responsibility to the students. Immediate positive or corrective feedback plays a vital role in guiding a student's learning. Also, daily review and repetition are necessary to retain skills.
