Fun Facts
Something you will begin to learn quickly as your tutor (if I am chosen), is that I am very witty and quick on my feet. I feel like having a strong sense of adaptability makes you an even stronger mentor for your mentee. I take pride in painting sometimes and skateboarding.
About Me
I am from Brooklyn, NY and went out to two different states for further education after high school. I went out to Central Pennsylvania to be a Biochemistry major at Susquehanna University
Experience
As a teacher's assistant in grad school, I have had the luxury of teaching my own students already and it has been a blast. The class sizes averaged from 14-20 students and I taught at least 3 different sections a week. I also have experience with younger children in underdeveloped countries through the program Global Glimpse. I am proficient in Spanish due to excellent schooling in high school and got the opportunity to teach English to young Hispanics.
Approach
I love to ensure students are thinking for themselves and are not spoon fed answers. I feel like the art of asking yourself "why?" is becoming lost with how accessible the internet is becoming with stuff like Google and even more modern innovations like ChatGPT. I feel like it makes the mind work less and having that natural curiosity is what I like to focus on building with students because that is what will make learning fun in the long run!
