Fun Facts
Even though I started dancing when I was 3 years old, I didn't start to find passion in it until my freshman year of High School. After having the opportunity to dance everyday and choreograph my own pieces, I am now double majoring in Dance and Biology in College! It is never too late to find your passions.
About Me
Hi! I am a freshman at Barnard College in New York City majoring in Biology and Dance. Outside of these subjects, I am extremely passionate about Public Health and Housing Equity, and next year I am looking forward to running a conference on these topics! Throughout High School I took advanced science and math courses, as well as classes in Anatomy and Physiology, Psychology, Sociology, Dance Composition, History, and Women's Studies. I was on the Dean's List for every semester in High School, and I am currently training to also be an EMT!
Experience
Last summer, I worked as a Kumon Tutor for students ages 3-12. I have experience teaching in math, writing, reading, and science, as well as with students of varying abilities and learning disabilities.
Approach
I believe that the one of the most important aspects of teaching is compassion and encouragement. As a tutor, I have learned how to slow down and take my time in a lesson, as well as how to personally tailor it to the student. It is crucial to be able to reexplain the same concept in different ways so that all students are able to understand. I also know that students all learn differently, so I utilize a combination of visual and verbal techniques to teach, and I make sure to have the students
