About Me
I currently work part-time for AmeriCorps as a Disaster Preparedness Specialist where I give Presentations in how to prepare for emergencies like hurricanes , floods, heat waves, pandemics, etc., to school age children in Houston ISD, Katy ISD and Alief ISD and various community centers.
Experience
I have 17 years teaching just about every grade level in public school with a concentration in Reading and Math. Simultaneously, I taught college Psychology for 10 years part-time. I have been tutoring for 6 years and love working with children and teaching in general.
Approach
I use a lot of positive reinforcement and positive strokes and try to play games with the subject matter where appropriate. This makes learning fun for the student and an enjoyable experience.
