Fun Facts

Since 4th grade I have played the euphonium, and since 7th grade the trombone. I played in my high school's pep band, orchestra, and Jazz band, as well as the Colts Neck Community Band. In college I am a member of the Penn Band. I am also engaged in the college political life, and I am working on writing jokes in order to audition for the Penn stand-up group. I collect hats and I love trivia.

About Me

I am a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania. I am currently an undecided major, but I will likely major in Political Science with minors in philosophy, economics, or legal studies. My first semester GPA is a 3.85. I am a National Merit Finalist and a National AP Scholar. I am an eagle scout and a Jersey Boys State delegate. I am a member of the Penn Band, Penn Political union, Polybian Society, and a columnist for the Spectrum publication.

I tutored at my high school as a member of National Honors society, the Science National Honors Society, and the History National Honors Society. I tutored middle and high school students in a variety of subjects. I also gave SAT prep, which I was requested to do most often after I became the first student in my school's history to receive a 2400.

I like to immediately ask students what they think is the most difficult part of what they're learning. I will then ask them to try a problem or two on their own so I can see what is giving them trouble. After that, I'll go over the method again and try to find the kind of teaching style that is most effective for them. I guide them through the questions without giving them answers, and as soon as they are able I will have them do more problems on their own. I am very patient and I want them to know that mistakes are ok, but if they do not understand the concepts then I find a new way to teach it to them.
