- I have a colorful array of interests! I love video games, and I am currently into playing The Sims 4 and building my island on Animal Crossing.
- I also sing and, I am attempting to teach myself to play the guitar.
- I once had an opportunity to perform in a cabaret, in front of a live audience.
- I'm also a devoted fan of anime, and reading comic books, both Marvel and DC Universes. I try to bring creativity and passion into everything I do.
About Me
I am an enthusiastic and compassionate tutor with years of experience working with students from pre-K to middle school. My journey in education began with a desire to make learning accessible and enjoyable for every student. Over the years, I have tutored in diverse subjects such as English, history, math, reading comprehension, and providing homework help. My background includes significant work with Girls Inc. NYC, where I engaged in educational programming and tutoring for 6th to 8th graders in a downtown Brooklyn public school, and I've also worked with elementary-aged students, in addition to teaching pre-K and preschool. I currently work in UX Design, and finished a design apprenticeship with Amazon.
Experience
My tutoring career is built on a foundation of real-world experiences and a genuine love for education. I taught Universal Pre-K for 3 years while tutoring elementary students after school. After that, I worked with Girls Inc. NYC, facilitating after-school programming, including tutoring and homework coaching for 6th and 7th grades. I'm also signing up to volunteer with Reading Partners to help elementary-aged students master reading comprehension and improve their literacy skills.
Approach
My tutoring philosophy centers on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. Just like in my classroom, I believe in tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs and interests of each student, making learning relevant and fun. By incorporating interactive activities, real-world examples, and personal interests into lessons, my goal is always to foster a love for learning and build confidence in my students. I emphasize critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
