Even with all my reading background and focus, I love math. It was always my favorite subject in school.

About Me

I am an experienced educator who loves teaching all subjects. I have two grown children and many cats. My daughter attended TCU and is a kindergarten teacher and my son is a student at Dallas Baptist University. I enjoy swimming and cooking. Most weekends you will find me in the kitchen trying out new recipes.

Experience

I have 36 years experience in education. I have taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades self contained and worked with elementary, middle-school, and high school students as a dyslexia teacher. I have also taught 3rd grade math during summer school.

Approach

As a student, I struggled learning to read. It was this struggle that lead me to focus on the teaching of reading. I wanted to be able to help students so they didn't struggle like I did. It is my heart for students and the power that literacy holds that drives me to meet each student at their level and guide them as they journey through the world of learning to read.
