One thing about me is I love learning! Currently I'm studying psychology and cars on my own, but I love learning about people, new activities and honestly everything. Personally I also love swimming, baking, music, movies, cooking, reading and honestly anything. My new hobbies are rock climbing and interior design techniques, so I'm not great at them yet, but with practice I'll get there! I have 5 siblings, who I've helped tutor, and only one of them is a brother.

About Me

I am a junior at Utah State University. I'm getting a degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education and Spanish Teaching. After I graduate I'd love to be able to teach and get a masters, maybe another degree or two. I have my International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. This was a program I did in high school which allowed me to graduate high school with my associates degree which placed emphasis on having a well rounded individual involved in activities, community and service.

Experience

I have had many opportunities to be able to teach at a preschool, in different classrooms, tutor students along with teaching swim lessons. I've helped tutor or teach students skills in swimming, writing, reading, math, Spanish and history. I also have experience with children with disabilities as well, including but not limited Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, Mute, and EL's (English Learners.

Approach

I've really struggled a lot with math my whole life, and found resources to help me out. My approach when tutoring students is trying to use more guided questions to help them figure out answer. I'm also good at explaining my thought process to relay that to students, so they understand the why behind a skill as well. I am also very adaptable since my strategy may not work for all students.

I have written a magazine for a project, many essays, including a 5 and 15 page essay. I tend to do well in essay writing along with punctuation and professional writing. I've also helped many students with citations and how to correctly and efficiently add them into essays.

Algebra Tutoring

I have done Secondary Math 1,2 and 3, IB Mathematics and Math 995 and 1050. I've also taken Math 2010 and Math 2020. I've also tutored a number of students in middle school and high school math.

Arts Tutoring

I've taken many art classes including painting. I am not amazing at it however, I know a lot of techniques that can be helpful and I've practiced a lot of shading, drawing and painting.

I passed the ACT English section, taken Honors English along with 2 years of IB English, English 1010 and English 1020.

History Tutoring

I have taken many history class in high school and middle school. I know a lot of resources and strategies to learn different points of history.

Reading Tutoring

I was always an advanced reader but have taken a college course ELED 3100 on how to teach reading comprehension, phonics and other skills. I've also tutored a few students in elementary and middle school in reading.
