I have coordinated courses on Spanish, stress physiology, animal welfare, physiology, and reproduction through the generation of books, scientific articles, and through participation in national and international events.
About Me
I am a doctor in veterinary medicine, master in animal sciences and Doctor in Veterinary medicine. Currently, I am associate professor at Antioquia University offering Animal Physiology, English and Spanish courses. I have extensive national and international scientific experience at various universities and have also had the opportunity to conduct research with multiple terrestrial animal and humans models.
Experience
I have dedicated 18 years to the study of how animal stress affects the physiological mechanisms (homeostasis) of terrestrial animals, continuing the legacy of Dr. Hans Selye. I have had the opportunity to work with multiple rural communities affected by the Colombian armed conflict, understanding that to address animal welfare, we must first address the welfare of the human animal. For more than 6 years, I have been involved in advocating for the implementation of new laws which seek improve English and Spanish learning process as well regulate of maritime transport of animals, production of broiler chickens, laying of hens, breeding of sows, and fattening of pigs, and projects that promote animal welfare in Colombia South America.
