Fun Facts

I am a nerd! I love playing Dungeons and Dragons with my friends, and one reason I am quite good at the game is because it is numbers based. Many of my friends are artists (abstract), so one of the things I will do with their pieces is try and find patterns in the strokes, finding images within the image. I learn German and Python for fun in addition to my course work.

About Me

I am a Mathematics Education Major at Florida College, and am aiming to get a Graduate degree in Mathematics/Applied Math after graduation. My long term goal is to become a professor of mathematics.

Experience

I have served two different schools in three different educational labs, two for math and one for computer programming languages. They have all gone to heighten my understanding for Algebraic concepts and given me time to practice new teaching methods.
I have had the pleasure of learning general education methods courtesy of the US Air Force and Marine Corps, and find ways to apply their highly successful methods into a classroom setting (minus the pushups, of course)

Approach

I have found that no two students are the same. Some require a firm hand, and may need to take short breaks between homework problems to do a brief exercise, while others may need you to just encourage them.
My initial approach is broad, in an attempt to get to know each student. After ascertaining which method(s) they react to best, I go about using that one/those and tweak the methods to personalize it more.
