Fun Facts
I wasn’t diagnosed with dyslexia until high school. This helped lead me to my passion for helping others with reading disabilities (no matter the age!). It’s never too late to learn.
About Me
I am a mother of 2 children. I am heavily involved in their extracurricular activities and love being a part of our community.
Experience
I am a education/pennsylvania/pittsburgh">special education teacher of 10 years. I have taught learning support, ELA, math, and History/Civics for middle/high school students. In my 10 years of teaching, I have had the opportunity to teach in a live virtual setting. This has allowed me to teach students across my state. I am also certified in Orton-Gillingham.
Approach
Growing up I always knew I was a bit different. I struggled greatly with reading and retaining the simplest concepts. I was diagnosed with dyslexia, autism, and ADHD until much later in life. Knowing the struggles I encountered as a child has helped me learn different approaches to education and learning. Not everyone learns the same way and I think it’s extremely important to first understand the approach before jumping into the materials.
