Fun Facts
In my free time, I love to apply my technical skills to fun projects. For example, I've created a digital pinball machine from scratch (construction, hardware, software), an all-in-one arcade machine, and reusable IOT (Internet Of Things) modules based on the Arduino platform.
About Me
I have been a career software engineer/architect and am looking to make a change in my early retirement to do what I love. I'd want to combine my passion for math with my educational skills developed as a technology leader to educate and simplify math concepts for others. Recognized by senior leadership, peers, and direct reports, as a strong leader and mentor focused on team development and success. My passion for helping others understand concepts earned me the nickname "The Professor" by my coworkers.
Experience
There are various tutoring examples in my past/career. In college, I often would help fellow students understand calculus concepts by explaining things in a way that they understand, rather than the "textbook way". When my children were in middle and high school, I helped them (and tutored their friends) in algebra and geometry; receiving compliments on how clearly I was able to explain the concept/process of solving the problems.

Approach
In 5th grade, I had a math teacher who helped me realize my passion for math. He showed me how match problems have specific answers and that I can check my own work to verify my answers. This had a dramatic impact on me in high school and college, where I applied this approach to every math test I took, allowing me to walk out of the exam knowing I "aced it". In my past tutoring experience, this is how I explained algebraic concepts to students. I also love that math has its own "language" i

Math has always been my strongest subject. I've tutored my own children and friends of theirs in algebra, geometry, set theory, fractions, percentages, etc. with great reviews in response. I love explaining this, and showing this, to students so that they can verify their work. I am a logical thinker and an love how algebra is a process of applying logical rules so solving problems.
