Fun Facts
I'm a big fan of poker and love the strategic thinking involved in the game. It's a fun way to sharpen my analytical skills. I was born in Atlanta but moved to Houston, TX when I was one year old, and I lived in Texas the rest of my life until I moved to Seattle for college last year.
About Me
I am a sophomore at the washington">University of Washington in Seattle with a major in Economics and Statistics and a minor in science/texas/houston">Computer Science. I have been on the Dean's list for all quarters and have a GPA of 3.92/4.00. I am in the process of gaining extensive knowledge in data science, economics, finance, and programming, and hope to be a financial analyst at a bank after I graduate.
Experience
I have tutoring experience in a variety of fields. I have taught students how to program in Java and Python. I have helped my classmates understand math concepts such as graphing functions, solving complex algebraic equations, and developing effective strategies to solve word problems. I worked as a Python course developer and instructor, creating courses that teach students with guided projects rather than traditional lecture-based lessons.
Approach
I use a student-centered approach, where I focus on understanding each student's unique learning needs and tailoring my explanations accordingly. I believe in using real-world examples to make abstract concepts more relatable, and I encourage active problem-solving and critical thinking. I am patient and flexible by making sure that if a student does not grasp a concept through one explanation, I will present it in a different way until it clicks.
