I am an avid reader and believe that the ability to read and comprehend opens doors for people more than any other way! My dogs love my reading time in the evenings as that's when they get to cuddle in my blanket chew their bones and relax.

I work in medical coding and billing at a busy general surgery clinic. The ability to read and interpret information is vital to my job.

Experience

I don't have professional experience in tutoring but I have been volunteering as a reading tutor since
I was in the 4th grade. In the 4th grade, I was reading at a 12th-grade level and was often called upon to help my classmates.

Approach

As a child in elementary school, I was very shy and suffered from low self-esteem. My 3rd-grade teacher, Ms Janie, recognized my value and gently but firmly cultivated a self of worth and confidence in me. I believe building confidence is a very important part of the teaching process.
