About Me

With a Masters in Globalization Studies from Dartmouth College, an interdisciplinary program where I focused on international affairs and writing, I have spent my career working in international affairs and journalism. In 2020, I moved to Somalia to oversee a major research project on aid effectiveness in the country after five years with the UN. Because of my lifelong passion for writing, I decided to take a risk and become a full-time writer a year later. So far so good.

I am an experienced writer and communications expert with 15 years of experience working on a range of subjects. In addition to recently completing a book, my work has appeared in esteemed publications including Newsweek and the Harvard Business Review. I have also served as a ghostwriter, editor, and researcher for thought leaders including Dr. Paul Farmer, founder of the NGO Partners In Health, and Dan Hendrycks, recently named one of the top 100 most

Approach

Without enjoying a subject, it is difficult to master it. Fortunately, you can find something about every academic pursuit that fascinates you. My priority is getting my students excited to learn then going from there. When teaching writing, I feel the best approach is to have an open conversation about a piece. It helps to discuss the pros and cons of different styles to help others gain the knowledge needed to craft compelling, impactful, and substantive content.
