I am quite the homebody because I love spending time with my family- dogs included! As my children grow older I’ve learned to appreciate each day because time goes by quickly!

About Me

For the last four years I have served as the Literacy Strategist at my elementary school. I get the pleasure of helping students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade become successful with reading through small group intervention.

Experience

Through my 15 years of experience in elementary education I have also been a classroom teacher for grades Pre-K through 2nd.

Approach

Even though I have experience in teaching all of the major subjects in early elementary, my passion is teaching kids to read. My youngest child was diagnosed with dyslexia when she was in 2nd grade and that really encouraged me to want to help students learn to read. I saw her frustration, but was reminded that ALL kids can read- some just need extra support and encouragement.
