Fun Facts

One fun fact about me is that I love trying new foods! It doesn't matter how far or inaccessible the restaurant is as I will go out of my way to have the chance of eating the new food. There was one time I drove 7 hours down to Corpus just to have some oysters and then came back home the same day.

About Me

Hello! My name is Jacob Paek and I am a recent graduate from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health. A fun fact is that I actually graduated in 3 years and am planning to take a gap year to study for the MCAT! I went on to be on the President's list 3 years in a row and graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA. I hope to help your child with their academics while also encouraging them to see school in a more positive way.

Experience

I had the opportunity to tutor elementary and middle school-aged students for 3+ years at my church. I provided them with my knowledge and gave them helpful tips and tricks to do better at school and on their STAAR exams. I did this by conducting practice STAAR tests to track progress, identify areas of improvement, and help set realistic goals for exam preparations. I provided the students with constructive and positive feedback so they could become better students.

Approach

I enjoyed school throughout elementary and middle school, but that all changed in high school when grades and exams began to matter for the future. I struggled to adapt to the pressure and didn't find my way until I started getting help from a test prep company. They helped me significantly and I started enjoying school again. I am now hoping to use my knowledge to help students rediscover their joy in academics or ignite a new flame in them.
