Fun Facts
I love travel and spent about 4 years living in Scotland. I'm also a mediocre guitarist, an avid gamer, and a huge foodie.
About Me
I'm currently pursuing my Master's in science/texas/austin">Computer Science from the University of Colorado Boulder and earned my BSc in science/texas/austin">Computer Science from St. Edward's University in Austin, TX. Before that, I spent several years studying Latin, Biblical Hebrew, and Theology at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. I've got a pretty broad knowledge base, and I love teaching engaged students who want to learn.
Experience
I've been tutoring since I was 15; my high school had a program through which students could tutor other students for volunteer hours, so I began by teaching Latin and math to students a few years my senior. From there, I got involved with a program called ABC/CEDEN later in high school, at which I taught underprivileged kids basic math and English skills. Later, in my time at St. Edward's, I was a TA for a Software Engineering course, leading 4 student teams to build their full-sta
Approach
My approach tends to be pretty straightforward and Socratic. If a student makes a mistake, I like to ask them to explain their reasoning to me first. It's helpful to understand where they're coming from before jumping into a teaching style.
The only hard rule I have is that my students need to be invested, in themselves, in improving. A student who's only there because mom and dad said he has to be is never going to make the same progress as a student who shows up because he wants to be there.
