Fun Facts
Some of my hobbies include figure skating and arts and crafts. I started figure skating when I was 5 years old and still skate occasionally for fun. I taught myself how to knit and crochet and love to dabble in various art projects. One thing that people don't know about me is that I am deathly afraid of frogs!
About Me
I am a recent graduate of Johns Hopkins University. I graduated in December 2014 with a Molecular and Cellular Biology major and Music minor with a 3.75. I have been on the Dean's List all 4 years at Hopkins. I will be taking a gap year before hopefully attending medical school.
Experience
As a Pedscare volunteer with Community Hospice, I have had the opportunity to maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutor a middle school student in Algebra I during the summer and help a high school student prepare for the GED. I also have experience teaching and maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutoring other subjects, such as piano and music theory. I have helped beginner and intermediate level students pass the state music theory exams and improve their piano technique and musicality. I am also currently volunteering with the Johns Hopkins Tutorial Project.
Approach
Through my teaching and maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutoring experiences, I been able to connect with my students and mentor them as well. I have also learned how to adapt my teaching tactics to fit the student’s learning style and to try new methods when necessary. As a maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutor, I hope to encourage my students and instill a love of learning!
