Fun Facts
I spent the past six years living in Seoul, South Korea, where I obtained my Master's and fell in love with the culture. I have a great understanding of the Korean language, along with Latin and Ancient Greek. I love to cook and eat almost anything and I enjoy exercising. Finally, I love relaxing by playing games on my Nintendo Switch.
About Me
I am a teacher and a student who is applying to PhD programs in Humanities. I have a Master's of Global Korean Studies with a 3.75 GPA from Sogang University, South Korea, where I studied Korean culture, linguistics, and computer programming, graduating in 2023. I have a Bachelor's of English Literature from Loyola University New Orleans, 2017, earning a 3.82 GPA, along with a minor in Classical Studies in Ancient Greek and Latin. I plan to become a college professor teaching Digital Humanities.
Experience
I have been tutoring and teaching English for over 10 years. During my undergraduate, I was a Writing Tutor at the Writing Center, working with fellow college-aged students to write various papers. After graduating and moving to Seoul, I taught ESL full-time and part-time when I was a graduate student. Being a tutor at Frog Tutoring allows me to give my services and knowledge to students who want to succeed.
Approach
I used to be a quiet and reserved student until, in my undergraduate period, I became more confident as I was in an environment with professors who encouraged my comprehension abilities to grow. I was challenged in my graduate period, studying a culture and language I was not native to, but I pushed myself to have a positive attitude and believe in myself. I want my students to have the same confidence that I gained in school
