Fun Facts
I enjoy playing and watching soccer. My favorite team is FC Barcelona and I think Lionel Messi is the greatest soccer player of all time. He's just too good, it's almost not fair.
I was born in Belgium and visit Europe often. I find European history and culture absolutely fascinating. I mean, could you imagine living in a castle?
Although I'm very science-oriented, I love the arts. It's not too surprising; my father is an engineer and my mother an artist.
About Me
In May, 2011 I graduated from Bucknell University with Honors in Neuroscience. I am currently applying to medical school for next year. As a doctor, I truly hope I can make significant advances in the field of medicine. Although I have not decided what specialty, I really love all things neuroscience, so I am fairly confident it will be related to that.
After taking my first Biology course in college, I started volunteering to philadelphia">tutor. Teaching and helping others understand material is an extraordinary experience. Since then, I have tutored others for almost every science course I have taken. I will continue to teach others as long as there are complicated things that need to be explained!
Before college, I admit I never did that well. Once I realized I was falling behind, giving up just seemed like the best(and easiest) option. My motivation to become a philadelphia">tutor is to prevent others from falling into that mindset. Regardless of how far behind a student might be, giving up should never be an option. There is always a chance to not only catch up, but to improve and do well. To do this, my philadelphia">tutoring method focuses on understanding material conceptually and practically. I'm a visual learner, so I'll be drawing figures and diagrams a lot to explain conceptual knowledge. I can also accommodate auditory and kinesthetic type learners. The best way to understand practical application is simple: practice, practice, practice. Doing different types of problems will ensure a student fully understands the material. Overall, my primary concern is to help students succeed in their classes and build a foundation for them to do well in any class.
