Fun Facts
This past year has been all about TRAVEL! I attended a Dallas Cowboys game at ATT Stadium, went to Niagara Falls to see the total eclipse, toured to the top of Pike's Peak in Denver, and enjoyed beignets in New Orleans.
About Me
I retired last year after 35 years of teaching middle school science. I was fortunate enough to do my "dream" job in a wonderful district for all of those years. Now, in this next chapter, I am enjoying working with students individually or in small groups.
Experience
I worked as a middle school science teacher for 35 years. As a retired teacher, I have worked as a tutor/homework coach in various situations. I virtually taught middle school science lessons to a 6-year-old in Peru. For about 5 months, I was a homeschool teacher for a kindergartner and two sixth-graders teaching all subjects. In the later half of the school year, I worked with a 5th-grade boy who was functionally illiterate and was able to get him reading at a late 1st-grade/early 2nd-grade
Approach
As a tutor, every child can learn any content that is delivered in understandable chunks and different ways. It is my job to find the way that works best for them. My goal is for them to succeed at acquiring the specific content objectives.
