Fun Facts
Outside of numbers and spreadsheets, I am a lover of the outdoors and a proud owner of two spirited Cocker Spaniels, who ensure I never miss my daily dose of exercise and fun.
About Me
Though new to formal teaching, I have substantial experience training interns in complex financial analyses at a professional level, adapting information delivery to varied learning styles. This role has not only equipped me with the patience and communication skills necessary to break down intricate mathematical theories into digestible, relatable lessons, but it has also deepened my understanding of how theoretical knowledge applies in real-world financial settings. I recently graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in Finance from Florida International University and am currently working on launching my tax preparer business. As I work towards my goal of becoming an internal auditor, I am excited to bring this blend of academic knowledge and practical application to tutoring, enriching students’ learning experiences and connecting math to future career opportunities.
Experience
In my role as a Credit Analyst, I had the enriching opportunity to extend my expertise beyond traditional duties to include training and supervising new hires within the company and college interns assigned to the credit department. As the direct supervisor and trainer for a 14-week internship program, I designed and implemented a comprehensive training curriculum tailored to the complexities of financial analysis and credit risk evaluation.
Approach
My approach to teaching is rooted in the belief that effective learning occurs when students are actively engaged and able to relate theoretical knowledge to practical applications. As a finance professional with hands-on experience in credit analysis, I prioritize clarity, context, and real-world relevance in my teaching methods. I strive to create a dynamic learning environment where complex financial concepts are broken down into understandable segments that students can easily apply.
