One thing you should know about me is that I love crocheting! Every morning, I get up at least an hour early so I can have time to crochet before the day starts.

About Me

I am a graduate of Southern Utah University, having been on the Dean's List twice. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in psychology before returning to school to get my Associate Educator License. I've been teaching ever since and love it!

Experience

After getting my AE license, I began work as a teacher at a charter school in Utah. Due to my background in psychology, I turned my focus towards helping students with special needs like intellectual disabilities, learning difficulties, and nontraditional home lives. Until I recently moved, I worked one-on-one with students in central Utah. Now I'm excited to be a part of Frog Tutoring to work with students all over the country!

Approach

Each student has unique needs, so I set aside a few minutes to get to know them and build rapport. This way, I can help them feel more comfortable, which allows students to open their minds to new information. Then, we begin working through the basics of the concept, identifying what they don't understand, and practicing problem-solving. Next, we consider real-world applications and the "why" behind the methods used. Finally, we discuss the plan for studying and retaining what they've learned.
