Fun Facts

I coached the school’s dance team and girls' 8th & 9th-grade volleyball for two years, winning the end-of-season tournament each time. In my spare time, I love to cook, dance and play billiards. I am currently a caregiver, in the mornings, for my cousin who was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at the early age of sixty.

About Me

I am a former public school science teacher, having taught for almost 19 years in Baton Rouge and surrounding areas. I am currently a caregiver, in the mornings, for my cousin who was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at the early age of sixty. I have two sons, my oldest passed away 9 years ago from the opioid epidemic at the young age of 20. My youngest son, now 23, is utilizing the Electrical Engineering degree he earned from Louisiana State University Summa Cum Laude.

Experience

I taught middle school science for almost 19 years at public schools in three parishes in Louisiana. I was voted Teacher of the Year by my peers at the end of my fifth year of teaching.

Approach

I was not diagnosed with dyslexia until age 17. I worked hard and studied hard in school finding the best techniques that worked best for me to compensate for my undiagnosed dyslexia. I enjoy working with others and helping them find the best approach to aid in their learning of any subject matter.
