Fun Facts
I like knitting and reading in my spare time. My husband and I happily welcomed our first child in March 2015. I have dreams of owning my own hobby farm, but for now I live in an apartment and accidentally kill potted plants.
About Me
In 2014, I graduated from the University of Notre Dame as a philosophy/theology joint major. My GPA was 3.9. I was on the Dean's List every semester, was a member of the Glynn Family Honors Program, and graduated summa cum laude with departmental honors in theology. I am a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Experience
I have experience teaching in many different settings: private maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutoring centers, summer camps, classroom settings, and one-on-one. In all, I have experience teaching individual students, large groups, and everything in between, and I have tutored students from preschool to high school. I also have experience with students with special needs, including, but not limited to, autism spectrum disorders and ADHD.
Approach
My strength as a maryland/maryland/baltimore">baltimore">tutor lies in my ability to adapt my lesson to meet an individual student's need. Whether I am working with one student or several, I always strive to figure out not only which concepts my students do not understand, but why they do not understand. This enables me to target my explanations to their particular situations and resolve any underlying misconceptions that may be hindering their learning.

SAT Verbal/Writing Tutoring
I scored 800 (perfect score, 99th percentile) on the Critical Reading portion of the SAT. I scored 690 (95th percentile) on the Writing section. I give my students test-taking strategies, but focus especially on helping my students master the concepts.

I scored 780 (99th percentile) on the Mathematics portion of the SAT. I give my students test-taking strategies, but focus especially on helping my students master the concepts involved. This helps them score higher and do better in school!
Study Skills Tutoring
I graduated high school with a GPA of 4.24 and college with a GPA of 3.9 (summa cum laude) due in large part to good study habits. I strive to assess a student's individual learning style and then tailor the material to the way that he or she learns best.
