I am great at connecting with people and fostering their enthusiasm with whatever topic I am helping them to understand. I have years of experience as a writing tutor and also as a volunteer at an elementary school.

About Me

I am a sophomore at DePaul University majoring in journalism. I became a writing tutor in high school and got a perfect score on my English and Language AP exams. I’m originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and look forward to bringing my passion for teaching to this job.

Experience

I have two years of experience as a writing and reading comprehension tutor but I have also served as a general tutor with social science, history, and geography. I have been volunteering at an elementary/middle school for 6 years as a teaching assistant and I feel comfortable assisting with any homework on this level.

Approach

I have learned that building a connection and allowing the tutee to become comfortable through conversation before trying to teach anything is important. I’m also a firm believer in letting the tutee come to a solution by guiding them instead of just giving them an answer. Most concepts in reading and English can be approached and understood if the right guidance is there.
