Fun Facts
I love baking, playing with children, musicals, and taking care of plants!
I also grew up near Atlanta, Georgia for my childhood and moved to the California Bay Area when I was nine years old.
I am planning on going to physical therapy school after completing my undergraduate degree to be a physical therapist.
About Me
I'm a San Francisco State University sophomore majoring in Biology with a concentration in Physiology. I plan to minor in disabilities studies and go to physical therapy school to get a doctorate in physical therapy. I've made the dean's list twice, helped start the Future Physicians Club at SF State as Director of Outreach, and am the secretary for an on-campus Christian life group. I love learning, reading, and mentoring!
Experience
I don't have prior experience as a tutor but I've had extensive experience volunteering to help educate and take care of children.
Growing up, my father was a children's ministry pastor and I helped facilitate Sunday school for children under the age of six before I even turned eight years old.
As an eighth grader, I mentored two sixth graders to help teach them to play the bassoon (a classical French/German instrument). I would provide them weekly feedback on their weekly practice videos.
Approach
I was not fortunate enough to afford tutoring as a child, but because of that I never took my education at school for granted. I quickly understood that if I did my part, followed my mentors'/teachers' advice, and stayed persistent, I could achieve anything and excel at it too. I want to help students tackle subjects they need more support for so they can unlock a sense of believing in themselves and find some enjoyment in academia.
