Fun Facts

A fun fact about me is that I love dancing. I am a trained dancer and used to teach it as well. I have recently left teaching, but do continue to dance in my spare time. My favorite types of dance are salsa and tango. Another fun fact about me is that I love to sing and took lessons for about one year, but to no prevail. I still occasionally sing in the bathroom though!

About Me

I am currently a Junior at wayne-state-university">Wayne State University and hope to graduate by May 2013. I plan to attend the University of Michigan Law School and while I am there, I would like to join the Michigan Innocence Clinic. I ultimately plan to be an Assistant District Attorney with the 7th District.

My detroit">tutoring experience comes from the time I spent volunteering at my local library. While I was there, I had the opportunity to work with children from grades K-12, as well as with physically and mentally challenged children. My experience interacting with children came from the time I spent working within my high school. I was a Peer Mentor for 3 years at my high school and also worked as a homework coach for a short time. As a Peer Mentor, my job was to help children build a stable bridge between their personal and academic lives. I have worked with a variety of different children in various situations, whether it is a freshman coming into high school from middle school or a senior who needed help planning their post-secondary education.

As a detroit">tutor I wish to ensure clients are comfortable with the subject matter, the nature of detroit">tutoring, and myself. I believe teaching is a very sensitive practice because trust is of the utmost importance. If you cannot trust the person teaching you, how are you going to be able to trust the information they are telling you is a fact? As a child, I had various detroit">tutors and understand the hesitancy of the experience. A new person trying to teach you can initially be uncomfortable and my goal is to eliminate that. As a detroit">tutor, I wish to develop a strong rapport with my clients and have them believe that with trust, together, we can reach any goals they set out for!
