One passion that I have is a South Indian percussive instrument known as the mridangam, and I am currently teaching this instrument as well!

About Me

I am a senior Biology major at houston">The houston">University of Houston. I have been on the Dean's list for the past 3 years and this past semester ended up on the Deans Distinguished Scholar's list at houston">The houston">University of Houston! After my undergraduate studies, I plan on pursuing a master's Degree to become an Anesthesia Assistant I will be attending UTHealth in the medical centre!

Experience

During my freshman and sophomore years of undergrad, I was a SMART tutor for the Bonner Leaders Program where I tutored 5th and 8th grade students to help them become prepared for their STAAR exams. I also was an SEP tutor where I tutored fellow undergraduate students on subjects they were struggling with. I am also the founder of the music school Layamandir Fine Arts where I teach students of all ranges and backgrounds a South Indian percussive instrument known as the mridangam.

Approach

My approach towards teaching is to first break down complex concepts into simple chunks so that these concepts become easier to digest. I do this by using simple day-to-day analogies which helps students have a deeper understanding of these concepts while keeping it easy and fun for them.
