Fun Facts
I am deeply passionate about neuroscience and neurobiology. Additionally, I enjoy expressing my creativity through fashion and, oddly enough, experimenting with espresso and matcha drinks! In my free time, I am an avid reader. I currently have one cat, but I would love to adopt more in the future!
About Me
I am a junior Psychology major and Medicine & Society minor at houston">the houston">University of Houston. I graduated high school with an Associate’s degree. After finishing my undergraduate degree, I plan to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology. Ultimately, I want to intersect my knowledge of neuropsychology with the legal field to psychologically assess relevant persons involved in court cases.
Experience
During high school, I mentored elementary and middle school students through Peer-Assisted Learning Strategies (PALS). Additionally, since my freshman year of college, I have tutored high school juniors and seniors to prepare for the SAT, college applications, and resume-building. Therefore, I am especially experienced in tutoring the subjects of math, writing, and reading.
Approach
I am curious by nature and love to learn. Despite lacking academic encouragement from my parents growing up, I still took it upon myself to pursue my passion for academia! For this reason, it is particularly crucial that I provide a warm and non-judgmental space for all students to engage in learning, regardless of their initial attitude toward it. I encourage students to see their potential through positive reinforcement and by showing patience throughout their journey to success.
