I consider myself a consumer of the arts. During my free time, I love attending music festivals and concerts. Furthermore, the more you get to know me, the more you will know that I am extremely fascinated with various types of plants. I have a plant collection of 75 plants, all of which are displayed inside my home.

About Me

I'm a Reading Tutor and a classroom supporter at a public primary educational institution in the inner city of Chicago. Specifically, I do pull-in and pull-out tutoring sessions and classroom support throughout the school day. Regarding tutoring, I mainly teach 2nd, 3rd, and 5th graders. Regarding classroom support, I mainly support kindergarten and 2nd-grade teachers and students.

After I complete my bachelor's degree at Northeastern Illinois University I plan to pursue my master's degree in elementary or early childhood education at Northeastern Illinois University.

Experience

Working at Jordan Community Elementary School as a reading and writing tutor, I am required to provide individual and group tutoring to students based on my personal area of expertise. Specifically, I prepare lesson plans by studying lesson plans and reviewing textbooks in detail to understand the topics. I also help students learn and understand new concepts and complete assignments.

Approach

As a lifelong student, I understand the importance of having an intellectual curiosity and acquiring knowledge through that curiosity. But most importantly I understand how vital it is to share knowledge with others and watch them thrive academically.
