Fun Facts

I am a Native Texan, I served in the Army for eight years, lived in Germany for almost eleven years. I enjoy teaching, rescuing dogs, camping, hiking and kayaking. I haven't owned a t.v. in over five years. I throughly enjoy reading!

About Me

I am a Special Education teacher and currently teach 6th - 8th graders. I have a Bachelors in Business and a certification in Education to teach EC - 12th grade.

Experience

As a father, I enjoyed coaching my son and his friends in sports, I helped with the Special Olympics in Germany, at various schools, and I worked at a Life Skills workshop teaching adults 18 - 60 educational subjects and practical job skills. I started teaching in Fort Worth, kindergarten through 3rd grade Autistic students and now I live in Sherman.

Approach

I believe that every student can be taught and with patience and guidance, each one can have the opportunity to find their particular way of learning. We all learn in our way. This is due to our own experiences in life. I like to know what each of my students enjoys and try to gear their lessons with their interests involved. For example, if they like cars, pick reading materials pertinent to vehicles, not a subject they are not interested in.
