Fun Facts
I love to learn. I love reading novels and gaining new viewpoints and ideas. I also love documentaries and taking courses to further my learning. I have taken and passed a real estate course and acquired my Realtor License. I have also obtain a Notary License and Group Fitness Certification expanding my knowledge in different areas. I also enjoy music, singing, dancing, and karaoke. I played clarinet in my high school marching band, took piano lessons, and would love to learn to play guitar.
About Me
I grew up in the small town of Kinston, NC, moved to Durham, NC to complete my undergraduate studies at NCCU for English/Education, and have been enjoying building relationships with my students and helping them accomplish goals beyond what they thought they could achieve. I have celebrated with students achieving SAT and ACT scores that they didn't think possible, have celebrated college and university acceptances, and classroom test score improvements.

Approach
As a student in elementary, I struggled with reading. I had a tutor that invested time in nurturing me and teaching me skills to improve. This helped me progres to taking Honors courses in Middle and High School and moving on to become a teacher of English. This shows the power of investment and growth. Through positive reinforcement and persistence, I have helped many of my students achieve far beyond what they thought possible. As a tutor, I attempt to bring this attitude to all of my sessions
