Fun Facts
This past summer I spent two months in Edinburgh, Scotland, and I fell in love with traveling. I've been playing guitar for six years, and I played softball for ten years. The Great Gatsby is my favorite novel.
About Me
I am an undergraduate student at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. I currently have a GPA of 3.7. In May 2012 I will be graduating with a B.A. in English with a minor in American Studies, and I plan on continuing my studies in a graduate program.
I have four years experience philadelphia">tutoring elementary school children in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs. I spent the last three years as an English Education major, observing middle school and high school classrooms, assisting the students, and writing lesson plans. I have a strong background teaching children and helping them learn as a swim instructor, camp counselor, assistant softball coach, and babysitter.
My philadelphia">tutoring approach is specific to each student depending on their learning style and personal needs. By reinforcing their strengths and working on their weaknesses, I can properly provide the student with the tools they need to succeed, including organizational and note-taking skills, healthy study habits, and confidence in their educational abilities. I believe that strong student-teacher relationships are the key to learning; therefore, I take pride in being not only a philadelphia">tutor, but a mentor as well.
