Fun Facts

One of my main hobbies is playing field hockey and I've played for 9 years and counting. I was recruited to play for my college (Bryn Mawr College) where I currently play left back. I love to do anything active specifically running and hiking. I am the oldest child with a younger brother who is about 19 months younger than me. My go-to fun fact for icebreakers, however, is none of what I have listed so far: it is that I was born in Minnesota!

About Me

I am a sophomore student-athlete at Bryn Mawr College who studies Psychology, Sociology, and East Asian Languages and Cultures. I know I want to attend graduate school for something related to psychology but I am not sure what specifically. My dream career is one in a mental health-related field where I can work with kids.

Experience

In high school, I was a member of multiple National Honors Societies and for Math NHS, Science NHS, and standard NHS I was required to log tutoring hours. I tutored younger classmates in tutoring sessions scheduled by my high school and sessions I set up myself outside of school. I also helped my younger brother with his homework a lot if that counts as experience :)
One more thing about me is I simply enjoy working with kids as I have extensive experience working with kids in different settings.

Approach

Throughout elementary school, middle school, high school, and now college I have always excelled academically, consistently earning high marks (4.6 GPA in high school, 3.9 GPA in college). I am a firm believer that grades do not solely determine intelligence and resources play a significant role in a student's academic performance. As an academically successful student, I believe I have the experience and obligation to give back to my community by helping struggling students.
