For this program, I volunteered at Valley Ranch Elementary for a year. Three times a week, I worked with students and helped them catch up to the rest of their classmates. I truly enjoyed this experience as I formed close bonds with students, helped them improve, and learned from them as well.

Approach

I believe that the application of knowledge is essential. I hope to instill within my students the love for learning. My approach is to first show the student why they are learning what they are learning so they are more motivated to learn. Then I will urge students to come up with their own solutions by pointing them in the right direction so that they gain confidence in their own ability. I hope to also help the students retain their knowledge by making sure they UNDERSTAND the information.
