Fun Facts
I am an only child, and I was born and raised in Greenville, NC. I am a product of my local public school district. I have worked throughout my career in Pitt County, and I am a two-time graduate of East Carolina University, which is also located in Greenville.
About Me
I am a passionate educator who genuinely loves to foster positive and nurturing relationships with students and families. I taught school for six years and was an accomplished school principal for 14 years. I currently work as an Education Consultant for my own business, Lifelong Learning Tutoring & Education Consulting, LLC. I have two beautiful daughters, and I love spending time at the beach.
Experience
As an educator, I have served in many capacities. I was a successful classroom teacher for six years, a distinguished school principal for 14 years, and I served on the national certified AdvanceED External team for 3 years. I have worked in public health administration for three years by leading initiatives which involved serving rural communities through Food Is Medicine that included a partnership with ECU Health.
Approach
I firmly believe that all students can learn and grow if you are authentic and intentional about forming and creating positive relationships with students and families. When I am able cultivate genuine bonds with every learner, students are always willing to work harder academically. I don’t view my gift of teaching as a job but more so as a gift that must always be shared in a manner that inspires students to reach beyond their limits.
