Fun Facts

I love to garden. Planting and growing flowers, fruits, and veggies of different kinds! Also, do you know what Kindergarten means? The word "Kindergarten" comes from the German language. "Kinder" means children, and "Garten" means garden. A garden of children who will need the right nourishment of knowledge and guidance to flourish and do great things! I want to help the students I tutor to grow in their needed areas and flourish during the next school year.

About Me

I am an undergrad at Baltimore City Community College. I will be graduating in the Spring of next next. Approximately on May 9th, 2026. I study Early Childhood Education. I want to work with children because I want to be a great resource for them and someone they can count on and trust. I helped out a lot with raising my younger cousins. I did not have to, but I wanted the experience of it. I enjoyed helping out, and I soon realised that's what my life's work and purpose is. To work with small children, for they are the adults of tomorrow, like me and you once were. I have done mentorship and been a mentor to several students when I was working at Heartsmiles. I also facilitated sessions teaching my mentees on different subjects like well-being, growth mindset, leadership, and more. At my current job, I am a Youth Outreach Coordinator with the Organisation of Hope.

Experience

Through the organization Heartsmiles, I have had a lot of volunteer experience. With Heartsmiles, I participated in 2 or 3 community clean-ups, and gave coats & cookies out during the winter to elementary students. I also helped out with the school's annual fun day. Two years ago, at the same school helped repaint the gymnasium. Through Heartsmiles and the Organisation of Hope, I have participated in multiple events with the community and given back.

Approach

First, I try to see what kind of learner my client is. Whether they are auditory, hands-on, or visual. Perhaps even a combination of those. Doing so with a few simple tests with the same words and see which area the child does better in. Also, consulting the parents about what specific areas in the subject the child needs improvement in. Once I have tested the child's knowledge and know what needs to improve, I start working on lesson plans tailored to them as best I can.
