Fun Facts
Something so so fun about me is as a freshly moved-out college girl, I adopted a dog I named Fae. She is 4 months old, and I love her in every way. She bites my nose hard and rips apart everything I love. She's a delight.
About Me
I am a junior (I classify as a senior) at the memphis">University of Memphis. I did change my major a few too many times, making me graduate a year late. Whoopsies. I plan to teach education/tennessee/memphis">Special Education, but I currently work at Highland Day School while I get my degree. I am a huge math nerd thanks to my father. I grew up getting taught my older brother's math lessons for fun. I was cool.
Experience
I worked at Mathnasium, tutoring mainly elementary students, for about 4 months when I was a junior in high school. Now and then, during the school year, I would go into the Kindergarten class to take over while their actual teacher tended to her newborn child. I also went into every other class. I don't know, I was with fours one day and infants another day. I have experience all across the board.
Approach
When I was a student, I learned best when I watched my teacher go over practice problems. It also helped me a lot when my teacher would say her thoughts out loud and the steps she took for each problem. I assume this is just normal teaching, but this is what I liked and would use for my students. Of course, it can change depending on the student.
